Today was class day at Suzicraft

Hi Everybody,

Here at Suzicraft we have a class or coffee morning every Thursday. Today was class day and I decided we would use a SplodgeAway Layout Mask to create a stunning card. I always set my ladies and gentleman off with an idea but I like them to make the card their own...this definately happened today so I will leave you with some fab cards made by everyone....big WELL DONE!

We started by running our SplodgeAway Layout mask through the grand calibur on SplodgeAway Easy Ink.

We then inked an A5 sheet of Easy Ink.

These flowers were made using the spellbinders floral die on the inked sheet of A5 card. I loved Dimply and Karens flowers, they used mixed inks on the SplodgeAway Mat to create a multi-coloured flower.

Going back to the embossed sheet of Easy Ink, we took our layout mask and placed it over the card, the layout masks are similar to the SplodgeAway mat so the ink glides over them. It was then up to each person how they wanted to design the card......so take a look at the pictures below....

mmmmm...of course lets not forget cakes :-)

Thank you to everybody who attended and see you all next week. Next week is coffee morning, anybody is welcome, it costs £5 and includes all your crafting goodies, tea, coffee and biscuits x

Good Night All x x

My Babies First Scrapbook page.

Good Evening Everybody,

Tonight I did want to show a scrapbook page I finished yesterday of my brother and niece but I realised I needed Joans gold pen to complete it and I won't see her until Thursday. Determined to keep on top of my blog and morning off I decided to do nothing but craft. I decided to start my scan photographs. This page is of our 7 week scan, it shows a tiny little bean but to Tom and myself that little bean with a tiny heartbeat means everything in the world.

This page really challenged me as I am full of distress and grunge and I wanted to make the page quite elegant. I also struggled with the paper to use as I wanted something neutral. I finally found some  Best Creations 12x12 card at the Doncaster Show. It has a very pale blue to it but it looks neutral to me.

I started with a 12x12 white sheet and wanted to spruce it up without distressing with ink. (Sorry Tom, no SplodgeAway on this page) I used a wide double sided sticky tape and placed it around the whole edge of the white sheet.

I then cut the patterned card to size and stuck it in the middle, with the spare card I mounted the scan photo but only stuck one side so I could put some journalling underneath. I held this down with  a moveable arrow and brad.

For some elegance I punched a Fiskars daisy punch with white pearly card and layered lace on the top, finished nicely in the corner with 2 hat pins and a bow.

Other embellishments include pearly corners, flowers and grungeboard painted white and titling placed in the centre. I am really pleased with the finished result x

Thanks for looking,
Susan xx

No pictures but a post.

Good evening everybody,

No photos tonight as Tom forgot my laptop so I am stuck on the IPad which I really detest!! I did finish my scrapbook page so I will post the photos sometime tomorrow. I have had a lovely day crafting and I can't wait for Saturday so I can get some more memento.
Today I was watching Arachnophobia while I was ironing, I haven't watched it since I was young and now I remember why. I am sat constantly hitting myself and the poor dog nearly got flattened when she brushed against me, lol.
I must go now as Tom is on the edge of the chair waiting for the IPad. I am going to do some more crafting and eat wham bars.
Goodnight all and thanks for following.

I am back!

Hello everybody,

I can't believe how long it has been since I updated my blog. Unfortunately, it has been a very busy and stressful few weeks and I haven't had any time to craft so I haven't been able to update my blog. However, THANKS to Tom, Dimps, Joan and Mo I rediscovered my Mojo and have lots of crafting projects to complete.
Today was the first time in ages Tom and I had a day off together so we decided to make the most of it, we went out for dinner and then baby shopping. I can't believe I am only 4 months and only have 2 things left to buy :-) Organised or what! This leads me to todays project, Granny Joan who is a regular customer in the shop and now a close friend made me a gorgeous pregnancy diary...the work and effort that has gone into this is unbelievable and I cannot thank Joan enough, I am going to treasure this forever, THANK YOU x

The diary came in this beautiful handmade box.

Bound together with ribbons and charms x

The details on every page are different, you can't see from the photographs but on each page there is hidden space for journalling, pull out tags, pages that lift up and reveal more space, just endless    hours of enjoyment. Each time I open it I find something new.

Granny Joan also made this beautiful wall hanging which I am going to put baby photos in:

THANK YOU Joan, We may always joke on with you but you know I love you like you were my own Gran, love you very much x

Here is a sneak peek of my 12x12 page which will be revealed tomorrow:

I am off now, going to get ready for the closing ceremony of the olympics.

Take Care
Susan x
